Taylor and I were having a conversation on science and religion. We were going back and forth on the balance of it all. He sent me this, and I thought it was really good and that I would record it on here.
Science IS change. Science is the process of inquiry. Inquiry is the way to know the truth of all things. Newton had questions, came up with a set of answer, and Einstein later questions those answers and discovered a whole new field of physics, relativity.
If science becomes settled, then it is dogma, and is falling into the field of religion. There are things we know, till we don’t know them. So we live by the motto, Often wrong, but never in doubt. By living out our beliefs, while simultaneously always asking why, inquiring and questioning, we grow, and then science would have you take those few illuminated steps towards darkness, to find a little more light to lead the way.
Science IS change, Dogma is static. If science takes on dogma, it is just another name for religion…scientology is no different then bibology.
Remember the parable about the man who said the earth circled the sun, and not the sun circling the earth…
Some food for thought.
Jnana Yoga is the path to truth through reason, I like that.
